MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at the Watts Conservatory of Music is to bring the joy and positive artistic and developmental benefits of playing a musical instrument to the community of Watts, all for free of charge.  Our focus is to provide this unique opportunity to the economically challenged city of Watts and to help uplift the community through the positive influence of music education and the arts.  Lessons as well as access to quality musical instruments will be provided free of charge by the Watts Conservatory of Music.  Through a combination of private one-on-one instruction as well as ensemble settings, our team of highly professional teachers, world-class musicians and visiting artists will provide children an unsurpassed music education experience.

Our amazing team of board members consists of Flea (bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Norwood Fisher (bassist of Fishbone), David Moss (founder of the Harold Robinson Foundation), Paul Tollett (Goldenvoice, Coachella), Julie Briskin Harelson (Gelson’s Family, philanthropist, long time supporter of Watts) and Bob Forrest (music industry veteran and lifelong friend of Flea) The school will be run under the direction of musician/producer Bobby Easton (Delta Nove, Long Beach Funk Fest).
